Welcome to your shop Dasea People - Undaservice
Interview
Can you tell us more about your shop? How was it created and what is your vision for it since the beginning?
We are based in Gdynia, a young and modern city located on the north coast of Poland. We have a shop and a workshop where we do neoprene wetsuits repairs. The shop itself is called Dasea People, and this is the place where we sell Patagonia and Carhartt.
From January 2022 on, I focused on developing the workshop place, Undaservice, and it has now become a surfshop as well. We moved all our surfing accessories there, so this is where you will find all MANERA products too. Because of our experience over the years, we have positioned ourselves quite well in our market and many customers trust us when it comes to choosing a proper wetsuit.
What is the philosophy of your shop? What is special about it?
There is nothing special about our philosophy; we only trust the best products. They are most often the longest lasting ones as well, so it’s eco-conscious at the same time. We are very devoted when it comes to reusing and recycling neoprene, so we offer secondhand wetsuits in our shop. We also crush the non-reusable ones to obtain neoprene granulate, which we then use to fill dog beds that we sell in the shop.
Why should people buy from you?
We are very experienced in wetsuit construction. We know everything about gluing, stitching, and taping. MANERA wetsuits are built in the way we would build our wetsuit if we ever made one, so it was very easy for us to promote your products.
Tell us about the location of your shop.
Both the shop and workshop are in the city center. Dasea People is next to a promenade, so it has some impressive shop windows. Undaservice is more in the industrial area but is on the way to Hel - our surf homespot. It only takes a few minutes to walk from one store to the other.
" We only trust the best products. They are most often the longest lasting ones as well, so it’s eco-conscious at the same time. "
What do you like best about running a surf shop?
Sharing stories with customers.
How do you think your shop fits into and reflects the community?
The Polish surfing community is small, and we all know each other by name. We all have very good relationships and organize a lot of activities together. There is no unfair competition between the shops, so two or three different shops often support one event at the same time. Because of the many ecofriendly actions that we take as a shop and a brand itself, the community associates us with a close-to-nature philosophy.
What is the best time of year to come surfing near your shop and the surrounding beaches?
Definitely in the wintertime. This is when we can get some spectacular conditions. Many of them are captured by Krzysztof Jędrzejak, our best photographer, whose photos are often shared by Magicseaweed.
What are your favourite local spots?
Władysławowo - pipeline. Long, clean, longboard waves.
" We know everything about gluing, stitching, and taping. MANERA wetsuits are built in the way we would build our wetsuit if we ever made one. "
What led you to offer MANERA products in your shop?
The quality speaks for itself. As I previously wrote, if I ever designed a suit, it would be done the same way, with quality neoprene, blind stitching, and taped from inside.
What is your favourite MANERA product?
The Magma and Meteor X10D wetsuits.
Is there anything else we should know about your shop?
You are invited to visit at any time!
