Simeon is a world-class and lifelong waterman, multiple outrigger canoe champion, downwind enthusiast, hydrofoil addict and active lifeguard on the Oahu shores. Always humble and eager to make a difference, he is the founder of Voyager Foiler, where he and a growing group of “voyagers” are helping to build a foil surfing community in Hawaii.
After learning how to surf at 6, he quickly realized he wanted his whole life to be in and around the water. Now spending most of his time canoeing, surfing, or downwinding, Simeon knows he is exactly where he’s supposed to be.

Simeon Interview
Can you tell us more about your passion for foiling and downwinders?
I borrowed my friend’s foil board out of curiosity and quickly became addicted to learning and improving. After spending time in the surf and progressing, we started to explore downwind, where I found my main passion in foiling. Then I started “Voyager Foiler”, a growing downwind community in Hawaii. I now spend many hours in the ocean canoe paddling, surfing, or on a foil.
You just won the lottery, what do you do first?
Buy land and travel the world!

Words to live by?
We are not here for a long time; we are here for a good time! Be humble, never quit.
What is the most incredible thing that you have experienced?
Honestly, my children and family. And of course, the thrill of downwind foiling and the joy of traveling. Overall, all my experiences on the ocean are incredible.
What do you do with your day when there is no wave or swell?
Stretch, train jiu jitsu, or go hiking in the mountains.
