Patrice
Chanzy
With French Polynesia as his playground, Patrice is most at home in the water. A natural-born waterman, he seemingly has done it all: surf, SUP, surf foil, and more recently wing foil. Undoubtedly, he is addicted to the ocean and the feeling of flying above the waves.
Besides being one of the most complete and top riders of the region, Patrice also works as a lifeguard and is a member of the Tahitian Water Patrol Team during major surfing competitions, like on the legendary spot of Teahupo’o

Patrice Interview
Can you tell us a bit more about your passion for your sport?
Pure riding is the basis of it all. Whether it's flying over the surface of a reef break or just riding an ocean wave with the wind. The feeling of speed that foiling brings is truly indescribable and addictive. That's why I'm addicted to surf foil and wing foil. You can ride in any weather.
You just won the lottery, what do you do first?
I buy a big sailing yacht with all the toys on it, and I sail the Pacific to find the best surf and wing foiling spots.
Next destination?
I would like to go back to the Tuamotu Islands.
What’s the most amazing thing you’ve experienced?
Riding a massive barrel in SUP at Teahupo’o at my beginnings with F-ONE.
What do you do with your day when there is no wind?
I go surf Taapuna, or surf foil on a nice glassy spot.
