Matt Argentin grew up surrounded by water and a family passionate about windsurfing; his parents put him on a board before he could swim. He’s been gliding ever since, finding his calling in surf foiling and downwinding. As part of the F-ONE R&D team, he combines his technical expertise with his natural talent. Quiet and humble on land, Matt comes alive on the water, chasing that perfect turn or wave with a calm, easygoing energy that defines his approach to life and riding. Matt Interview

Can you tell us a bit more about your passion for water sports?

My parents, who are passionate about windsurfing and board sports, put me on a windsurfing board when I couldn't even swim. Since then, I've always spent time in the water, doing different types of sports. Today, I myself am driven by this desire to spend time on the water and in the waves, which can be a little frustrating when you live by the Mediterranean, but at least it has taught me to appreciate all kinds of conditions.

You just won the lottery, what do you do first?

I take my friends to explore the most beautiful places in the world by sailboat, in search of the best spots and adventures.

What’s the most amazing thing you’ve experienced?

Moving to Australia for a year and a half. I got to meet a lot of amazing people, see some beautiful places, some super inspiring cultures, and I could ride waves every day. It was by far the most rewarding experience I've ever had.

What do you do with your day when there are no conditions?

I try to do things that take me away from my passion for water sports. For me, it's essential to be able to disconnect from it all to then enjoy it to the fullest.
