Specializing in Big Air kiteboarding and kite foiling, Jamie is known for his record-breaking jumps, daring tricks, and his relentless drive to be the best. He began flying kites on the beach with his dad at 6 and started kiteboarding at 9 years old, immediately becoming addicted to it and its adrenaline rush.

In 2022 and at just 16, the Dutchman placed second in his first Red Bull King of the Air, becoming the youngest athlete ever to podium. For Jamie, kiteboarding is everything—his escape, his passion, his mental release, and his dream.

Jamie Interview

Can you tell us a bit more about your passion for kitesurfing?

I started kiting on the beach with very small kites, and after a little while, I was doing some jumps with them. After three years, I started kitesurfing because it was a dream since the beginning. I just wanted to fly high and do a lot of tricks.

You just won the lottery, what would you do first?

I would immediately travel to a windy place where it's at least 30 knots!

Words to live by?

Fly high and enjoy life.

" It was a dream since the beginning. "

Jamie Interview

What’s the most amazing thing you’ve experienced?

That was probably jumping the world record (at the time) of 36.1 meters a little more than a year ago. And getting second place in my first-ever King of the Air.

What do you do with your day when there is no wind?

I go longboarding, I fly my drone outside, or I work out.
