Charles
Brodel
When Charles arrives on a spot, he’s unmistakable. Once he is on his foil, it’s impossible to look away as he takes off and commits to huge boogie double loops, kiteloop board-offs, or his own signature tricks like the one-foot fuselage grab and the “Brodel Flip”. Already a six-time World Champion, Charles is always looking to get more height and speed, and to push the boundaries of kite foiling every day.

Charles Interview
Can you tell us more about your passion for kite foiling?
I started kitesurfing at the age of 13, and the sport quickly became a passion for me. I've done mountainboard, twintip, kitebuggy, and snowkite. But now, kite foil freestyle and Big Air have become my favorite.
You just won the lottery, what do you do first?
A trip around the world to discover the best spots, and I share the rest with my family.
Next destination?
Anywhere there’s strong wind so I can send it.
What is the most incredible thing that you have experienced?
The entire 2022 year. I won two more world champion titles, I landed so many new tricks, and traveled to amazing places. Since I got on a foil, my sessions are more and more glorious! So, I think I can also say that the most incredible thing I have ever experienced is discovering this new passion for freestyle kite foil.
What do you do with your day when there is no wind?
It’s easy to kite foil in low winds, so fortunately it’s very rare for me to not be on the water. But if it’s really dead calm, I try to go surf foiling or do dock starts.
